Projects:Amon Tobin

Concerts

In 2010 the Heritage Orchestra jumped into it’s first big reinterpretive project, creating a unique show based on the world-renowned electronic music of Amon Tobin (Ninjatune) for the London Jazz Festival at the Barbican Hall, followed by gigs in Birmingham and the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

An early project for us, but a pivotal one, where we realised the potential of reworking electronica, programmed beats, and generally thinking outside of the box.  A lot of orchestras try this now, but back then it wasn’t so common.  With about 40 musicians, a singing harpist, and foley effects in the percussion, we recreated Amon’s album The Foley Room.
